Greetings Brothers & Sisters! April showers have begun to bring May flowers. Before I brief my DMS family regarding business matters pertaining to Detroit Manufacturing Systems, I would be remiss if I didn’t wish all the ladies a happy belated Mother’s Day and all the guys a happy Father’s Day.
DMS is a IPS (Independent Part Supplier) for Ford. DMS assembles the substrates with vents, wire harness, switches, and GPS modules. We supply Dearborn Truck-F150, Michigan Assembly-The Ranger, Flat Rock-The Mustang, Kentucky Truck-The Navigator and The Expedition, Kansas City-The center console, and Chicago Truck-The Aviator and The Explorer.
As a “union dues” paying member myself of the UAW Local 600, I have been witness to its transformation into a viable source and resource to its members.
Alongside President Bernie Ricke & 1st Vice President Tony Richard, whom both are seated on the Ford National Negotiating Team, we are committed to keeping our members informed, educated & deemed a “valuable entity” here at DMS.
DMS negotiated a contract on June 3, 2020, which expires on June 3, 2024. Prior, the starting rate was $14 per/hour. This year 2022, due to the expertise and knowledge of my bargaining team whom I work very closely with, the starting wage increased to $16 per/hour which includes shift premiums for the duration of the contract.
DMS respectfully extends a “hearty” thank you to “Bernie and Tony”. We appreciate your dedication to UAW Members here at our facility. Furthermore, I (Glynes, The Negotiator) Your ChairLady, would like to express my sincerest gratitude to “Bernie & Tony” for being a part of my Collective Bargaining Team.
Food for thought: Brothers and Sisters “It’s better to have the Union and not need them, than to need the Union and not have them.”
In solidarity, your unit chairperson, Glynes Martin
